Release Blitz + Review: "Wild Distortion" by Tina Saxon

Today, I am super excited to participate in the release blitz promoting Tina Saxon's latest novel, "Wild Distortion." It is not technically part of a series, but characters from several of Saxon's earlier books do make cameo appearances in this one. It still reads as a total standalone, so readers (like me) who are new to Saxon's work can jump in here with no problems.

A full review of "Wild Distortion" is included at the end of this post, but in short, I loved this book and highly recommend it for fans of contemporary romance, sports romance, romantic suspense, and even vacation fling romance. The story's twists and turns kept me glued to my Kindle and turning the pages long past my bedtime. I couldn't wait to find out what would happen next and how main characters Ryker and Aspen would overcome the obstacles standing in the way of their HEA.

About "Wild Distortion"

In paradise, nothing is as it seems.

Ryker

Coach gave me three rules. Train. Stay focused. Stay away from women. After being suspended from three NFL games, I was exiled to a remote island to stay out of the press.

One sight of the island beauty and I knew I was doomed to fail.

She's the girl from the island. Her eyes the color of whiskey and her lips, the taste of sugar. She's all of my addictions rolled up in one hot body. What's wrong with having a little tryst while on a mini-vacation?

Except addictions are hard to quit.

Aspen

He made me fall in love with him and then left me broken-hearted. My prison was his fantasy. But he wanted to see me again. He offered me something I couldn't resist. A chance to leave the island.

I should have never gone to New York City. I was a stranger in his world, but secrets about a past I never knew lurked in the shadows threatening to unravel my life. I thought I left the mysteries of the island at home. I didn't know I was one of them.

I'm the girl from the island.
And I was found dead twenty-four years ago.

My Review

Tina Saxon's "Wild Distortion" pulled me in from the very first page and I couldn't put it down until long after my bedtime. It was a compelling combination of sports romance, vacation fling romance, and romantic suspense with twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end. Main characters Ryker and Aspen were both quite likeable and three-dimensional, and it was easy for me to root for them to overcome all of the obstacles standing in the way of their HEA.

Aspen's home in Tahiti and the resort where Ryker stayed when he visited were vividly described, and I felt like I was right there in paradise with them as they explored the island. I really enjoyed their witty banter as they got to know each other during Ryker's forced vacation. Their relationship may have started off as something flirty and fun to pass the time until Ryker returned home, but it gradually turned into something more, and it was easy to see how much they cared about each other.

When Aspen came to visit Ryker in New York City, some of her "fish out of water" experiences made me laugh. She seemed so innocent in some ways, but was such an old soul in others. What I most loved about Aspen, however, was that no matter what life threw at her, she never let it defeat her. As for Ryker, I loved how protective he was of Aspen and everyone he cared about. He was a good person and somehow managed to remain relatively grounded despite the incredible level of success he had achieved in his career, though he still enjoyed the perks of his fame from time to time!

Overall, I highly recommend "Wild Distortion" for all fans of contemporary romance and will definitely be reading more of Tina Saxon's work in the future.
