I'm pleased to participate in today's release blitz celebrating "Love Me Nots" by Lydia Michaels, book #3 of the Jasper Falls series. It works well as a standalone, though characters from earlier books in the series make appearances in this one.
After a bad breakup with her cheating fiance, Perrin Harris swore off dating and chose to focus on building the business she owned with her sister, O'Malley's Pub. Her resolve was tested one night when handsome stranger Gage King came into the pub, but finding out that he planned to build a big box construction supply store on the land Perrin hoped to use to expand O'Malley's made her more determined than ever to stay single. After learning of their competing interests, Gage convinced Perrin to have dinner with him in exchange for a tour of other potential building sites in the town of Jasper Falls. It wasn’t long before he'd quite literally swept her off her feet, surprising her with a flight to Chicago aboard a private jet for their first date. However, when Perrin discovered that Gage hadn't been entirely honest with her about his past, she realized that she was right to avoid men and dating all along. Would Gage be able to convince her that he was worthy of her trust?
For the most part, I enjoyed this fast-paced, sweet story, but I wish there had been more to it. I liked Perrin and Gage and was impressed at how well the author managed to develop their characters in the span of a relatively short story, but IMO their relationship development was less successful. For example, what was it about Perrin that made Gage so determined to pursue her as soon as he saw her? Was it just because she was pretty? As for Perrin, what exactly made her change her mind about being with Gage in the end? There had to be more to it than just realizing that she no longer had feelings for her ex-fiance. After all, it is possible to get over an ex without falling in love with someone else first!

About "Love Me Nots"
It started with a hammer...
It started with a hammer...
Perrin is through with men. After dumping her cheating fiancé, she started a new career, and her life is finally on an upswing--until Gage comes into town.
Gage King, of King Construction, represents everything the small town of Jasper Falls is not. His big Texan upbringing disguises his secrets well and, at first glance, he appears all luxury and lavish sex appeal, but to a girl like Perrin Harris, he's just one big eye roll.
When Gage tries to buy the land Perrin has her heart set on, she puts a plan into action. She will stop at nothing to get what she wants, but so will Gage--and Gage wants her.
