Blog Tour + Review: "Summer Lovin" by Laurelin Paige and Kayti McGee

I'm excited to take part in the blog tour celebrating the release of "Summer Lovin" by Laurelin Paige and Kayti McGee, the sixth and final episode of the Dating Season series. Each installment builds on the events of the previous ones and follows the same main character, so IMO it's best to read these novellas in order.

"Summer Lovin" picked up shortly after the events of the previous installment, "Spring Fever," and we finally learned what main character Chloe meant by "choosing herself": instead of accepting a position with an out-of-state art gallery, she planned to stay in Colorado and turn her side business, Mae'd with Love, into a full-time gig. She was trying to move forward in her new relationship with roommate/longtime crush Austin at the same time, but had to find a way to break up with musician Logan first. That turned out to be easier said than done, but Chloe was determined to make things with Austin work.

I've been rooting for Austin and Chloe since the beginning of the series, so it made me ridiculously happy to see them together. They were such a cute couple, though I completely understood Chloe's fears about continuing to live together while their relationship was still so new. Her obsession with having an "exit plan" for them did get to be a bit much, but anxiety is never reasonable or easily controlled, so it's tough to criticize her for her actions. In any event, after all of her trials and tribulations over the course of the series, it was wonderful to see Chloe end up so happy both personally and professionally.

Overall, "Summer Lovin" was a satisfying conclusion to the series and I highly recommend it for all fans of chick lit, contemporary romance, and romantic comedy. Laurelin Paige and Kayti McGee are a fantastic writing duo and their books always make me LOL. I hope they will collaborate again soon!
