I am very excited to participate in today's release/review blitz celebrating the publication of "Don't Mind If 'I Do'" by Everly Ashton. While it is technically a standalone, the male lead, Dr. Nick Ryan, appeared in the first book of Ashton's Love in Apartment 3B series as protagonist Ollie's best friend.
"Don't Mind If 'I Do'" was a funny, sweet, and heartwarming second chance romance between ER doctor Nick Ryan and socialite Mazzy Pembrooke, whose fake relationship/marriage of convenience never truly felt fake to me. I adored their witty banter and the slow burn of their relationship development as they worked through the unresolved feelings from their past.
I didn't expect that I'd be able to relate to Mazzy all that much because of her privileged background and upbringing, but I ended up really liking her. She was a genuinely kind and caring person who tried to do good in the world, and I loved her efforts to find a more fulfilling role for herself. Nick also came from a privileged background but turned his back on that world when he became a doctor, which strained his already tenuous relationship with his family. Nick's reasons for doing so became clear as the story progressed and were entirely justified IMO, but the fact remained that he and Mazzy belonged to different worlds, which meant that there was a lot for them to figure out if they wanted to make their marriage work.
Overall, I loved "Don't Mind If 'I Do'" and highly recommend it for all fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedy. It was definitely my favorite Everly Ashton book so far. I look forward to whatever this author writes next.

About "Don't Mind If 'I Do'"
It’s not every day the woman who broke your heart asks to be your wife.
Life is good. I’m single. I’m an emergency room doctor. And according to my hookups, I’m hot AF.
Then she walks back into my life.
I haven’t seen Mazzy Pembrooke since the night she betrayed me. So when she comes into my work asking me to make good on a childhood pact and marry her, I’m speechless.
She’s the last woman I’d want to marry—even if it’s pretend and with a definitive end date.
But after I find myself in a sticky situation at work, marrying Mazzy might just benefit me too.
Once we’re living as husband and wife under the same roof though, I struggle to remember that I hate this woman and the fake marriage doesn’t feel so fake anymore.
Don’t Mind if “I Do” is a fake marriage, friends to enemies to lovers rom-com loaded with laughs. No cheating. HEA.
