Blog Tour + Review: "The Virgin Rule Book" by Lauren Blakely

I'm very excited to participate in the blog tour celebrating the release of Lauren Blakely's latest rom-com, "The Virgin Rule Book," book #1 of the Rules of Love series.

"The Virgin Rule Book" was a fun sports romance between professional baseball player Crosby Cash and his best friend's younger sister, NFL team owner Nadia Harlowe. Crosby was beyond ready to take a break from dating after years of attracting women who did nothing but get him into trouble, so he asked Nadia to act as his "wedding buddy" for her brother Eric's upcoming nuptials. Nadia had also sworn off dating because it seemed that every man she met was intimidated by her wealth and successful career, so she was all too happy to agree to Crosby's proposal. They had been friends for years, and neither thought that spending so much time together would lead to temptation. However, they each started to notice how good the other smelled and other tantalizing little details, and the long-buried attraction between them quickly ignited. They agreed to limit their relationship to a friends with benefits arrangement and even came up with a set of rules to manage it, but would they really be able to follow them?

I loved Nadia and Crosby's banter, especially the way Crosby kept trying to trick Nadia into using profanity. The made up swear words she used instead were so funny! I also liked that they never tried to hide their true feelings from each other; they just acknowledged them and had an honest discussion about how to move forward with their relationship. Finally, I really enjoyed the bromance between Crosby and his friends and teammates, which made me laugh more than once. I'm looking forward to reading several of his friends' stories in future books.

Overall, "The Virgin Rule Book" was another winning rom-com from Lauren Blakely, and I recommend it for all fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedy. I look forward to the next book in the series.

About "The Virgin Rule Book"

A sexy, brother's best friend sports romance from # 1 New York Times bestseller Lauren Blakely!

Let me make a few things clear. I didn’t go to the wedding intending to dance with the best man, to dare him to show me a very sexy pic on his phone, or to accidentally kiss him in the hotel elevator after the reception ended.

But you know how it goes. Things just happen at weddings...

The next day, Crosby and I agree to put all those shenanigans behind us. The fun-loving, stupidly gorgeous, all-star baseball player might be my brother’s best friend, but he’s my friend too and has been for years, so it’s easy to move on, especially because I have a high-profile business to run.

But since he’s newly single and I’m always single, it turns out we both desperately need plus ones. We agree to “publicly date” over the next two weeks of galas, parties and events before his baseball season begins.

The only trouble is the more time I spend with Crosby, the more I keep imagining how much I want him to take my V-card.

And when I broach the possibility with Crosby, his answer surprises the hell out of me.
