I'm pleased to participate in the release/review blitz promoting "Only One Regret" by Natasha Madison, book #5 of the Only One series. Characters from previous books in this series (as well as Madison's earlier Something So and This Is series) make cameo appearances here, but it reads as a standalone.
Feeling like a failure after his marriage ends in divorce, professional hockey player Cooper Grant is left to pick up the pieces of his life and figure out a new path forward with his two little girls, 4-year-old Emma and 2-year-old Mia. He's fortunate to have the support of his family as well as his agent, Erika Robinson, who has also been his best friend for the past eight years. Things between Cooper and Erika suddenly take a turn for the romantic one night when, after a few too many drinks, they share a kiss that turns into much more. The next morning, Erika panics because she's afraid to ruin their friendship, but Cooper isn't willing to give up on them without a fight.
Cooper and Erika were very playful and flirty with each other from the start. In a lot of ways, it was like they were already a couple and were the only ones who didn't know it; most of their friends and family seemed to pick up on their feelings for each other long before they did. Further, their chemistry was electric and they couldn't seem to keep their hands off each other once their relationship turned romantic, which led to plenty of steamy scenes. That said, I would have liked there to be a bit more focus on the emotional development between them, especially early on, when it really seemed as if Cooper was ignoring Erika's concerns about what might happen to their friendship if their romance didn't work out. Fortunately, it did work out, and Cooper managed to find a love like the one his parents had, which was what he'd been looking for all along.
Overall, "Only One Regret" was a relatively quick read featuring likeable characters, lots of steam, and low/no drama (which I always appreciate). I would recommend it for fans of steamy contemporary and sports romance and look forward to continuing the series.

About "Only One Regret"
COOPER
My name came with big skates to fill.
At the top of my game, I had everything I wanted, or so I thought.
Being traded to Dallas was not what I was expecting but neither were the divorce papers I was served.
Now I’m a single dad in a city that isn’t my home.
ERIKA
Handed my biggest client when I was twenty-two made my dreams come true.
Over time, our work relationship changed, and we grew closer, leaning on each other for support.
He was my rock, my best friend.
Then one drunken night changed everything, and I saw what was in front of me all along.
I just hope that when the dust settles, we won’t regret it.
