Release Blitz + Review: "Rebel Yule" by Kate Meader

I'm ridiculously excited to participate in the release/review blitz celebrating "Rebel Yule" by Kate Meader, book #5.5 of the Rookie Rebels series. Characters from earlier books in the series make cameo appearances in this one, but it works well as a standalone.

Erik "Fish" Jorgensen, goalie for the Chicago Rebels professional hockey team, has had a crush on PA Casey Higgins since the moment he first saw her, but even though she's friendly to everyone else, she always gives him a cold shoulder. With Christmas rapidly approaching, Erik is determined to find out what's behind Casey's antipathy and hopefully change her mind about him. Casey is equally determined to resist Erik's efforts, but that may prove to be easier said than done.

What I most loved about this novella was that it didn't feel like a novella to me at all. There was a tremendous amount of character and relationship development packed into this relatively short story. I also loved the intense chemistry and witty banter between Erik and Casey, as well as Erik's determination to make things right with Casey and then do whatever it took to make her his. Finally, I loved that Erik was able to share his Swedish Christmas traditions with Casey. I'm a big fan of holiday romances in general, but the incorporation of the Swedish traditions made this one extra special, and it will stand out in my memory from so many of the others I've read.

Overall, I completely adored "Rebel Yule" and highly recommend it for all fans of contemporary/sports romance, holiday romance, and romantic comedy. I will definitely be picking up more books in this series.

About "Rebel Yule"

A holiday entry in the Rookie Rebels series, featuring a player who’s been here from the start . . .

Goalie Erik "Fish" Jorgenson finally gets his shot at love . . . but first he'll have to figure out what he did to offend the woman he's had his eye on for some time. Can a little Yuletide cheer get him into her good graces, warm bed, and frozen heart? Or will he fumble the puck and lose his chance?

Join the Chicago Rebels this holiday season and find out if Erik is as good at saving Christmas as he is at saving goals!
