Release Blitz + Review: "Out of the Blue" by P. Dangelico

I'm pleased to participate in today's release blitz celebrating P. Dangelico's latest standalone novel, "Out of the Blue."

After being assaulted on her way home from work one night, former paramedic Blue Baldwin decided that it was time for her to get out of Los Angeles. On a whim, she responded to a want ad offering "country living" and ended up running an animal rescue in Ojai, which turned out to be exactly the change she needed. A few years later, Blue's best friend Jess, a junior agent at a major Hollywood talent agency, showed up without warning to beg for a favor. One of her boss's famous clients, actor Aidan Hughes, had been arrested for reckless driving and sentenced to three months of house arrest plus community service, and Jess wanted Aidan to do both at Blue's animal rescue. Knowing that they needed the donation Aidan was offering for allowing him to stay there, Blue eventually agreed to the plan. She fully expected that Aidan's presence would disrupt their routine, but she didn't expect the additional complication of his older brother Shane deciding to move in too - or that she would find Shane so attractive.

Blue was understandably wary around strangers, especially strange men, following her assault, but she couldn't help being drawn to the taciturn Shane almost immediately. I really liked that they gradually got to know each other and became friends before anything romantic happened between them, which was so important given the amount and type of emotional baggage they were each carrying. The chemistry between them was there the entire time, however, and I couldn't wait for them to finally act on it. The banter along the way was a lot of fun, too.

Overall, I very much enjoyed "Out of the Blue" and would recommend it for all contemporary romance fans. I didn't find it to be quite as emotional as the last Dangelico book I read, but it was well written and the characters were very endearing. I look forward to whatever Dangelico writes next.

About "Out of the Blue"

Life comes at you fast and love comes out of the blue...

A small town romance about letting go of the past and learning to live in the moment.

Blue Baldwin takes no horse crap from anybody. Well, actually, that's not entirely true. She does take horse crap. Piles of it. The real kind that is--not the metaphorical one. It kind of goes with the job description when you run a large animal rescue. What she does not take, however, is crap from an entitled movie star who needs to reform his rotten image.

Unfortunately, the farm she manages is in trouble and if she doesn't raise the cash to save it she'll be homeless along with the precious animals who depend on her. So she'll grin and bear the King of Hollywood Screw Ups, and the assistant, and the overprotective brother he brings along. I mean, she takes care of large animals for a living. Isn't that basically the same thing?
