Release Blitz + Review: "Hard to Score" by K. Bromberg

I am delighted to participate in today's release blitz celebrating "Hard to Score" by K. Bromberg, book #3 of the Play Hard series. It reads as a complete standalone, but I absolutely loved the first two books of the series ("Hard to Handle" and "Hard to Hold"), so I highly recommend picking them up in addition to this one.

"Hard to Score" was a sweet, sexy, and emotional story that featured endearing characters and a well-crafted friends-to-enemies-to-lovers romance between sports agent Brexton Kincade and NFL quarterback Drew Bowman. Brexton and Drew's parents were best friends as they grew up, but the families drifted apart following a scandal involving Drew's dad and the death of Brexton's mom shortly thereafter. When Brexton and Drew met again years later as adults, the intense attraction between them was immediately apparent, but Drew was determined to keep Brexton at arm's length because of his belief that Brexton's father had somehow been responsible for his father's downfall. Drew and Brexton kept running into each other, however, and their awkwardly rekindled friendship soon turned into something more.

There was a lot of family baggage for Drew and Brexton to work through before they could even contemplate the idea of a long-term relationship. The secrets Drew's father had been keeping for so many years weighed heavily on his entire family, especially Drew, who needed to learn the truth or risk making a choice between his fractured family and his new love. I appreciated how sensitive Brexton was to Drew's struggles in this regard; she tried to help him see that he deserved answers from his father because of the impact the scandal continued to have on his own life and career, but didn't push him into doing anything before he was ready.

Overall, I loved "Hard to Score" every bit as much as the previous books in this series and highly recommend it for fans of emotional contemporary romance and sports romance. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book of the series!

About "Hard to Score"

Hard to Score by K. Bromberg is now live!

I've signed numerous players to my family's agency--I assumed winning over my next client would be just as easy.

The last thing I expected was to run into the boy who took my first kiss and broke my heart: only now Drew Bowman is all grown up.

Sexy. Scandal-tainted. Second-string. The crush I never got over.

I tell myself work is the reason I can't get him out of my head. I tell him his talent far outweighs his position, and I know I can help. I lie and lie, because admitting that I want a second chance at my first love is impossible.

Some lines cannot be crossed, and ours was drawn in the sand years ago.

***

I'm supposed to hate her.

I've been told so time and again for ten years - her father ruined our family, smeared my name before my career even began.

But that's not what I'm feeling now.

Brexton Kincade just strode out of my memories and onto my field.

Driven. Determined. Grown up. The Capulet to my Montague.

Being with her would be an unforgivable sin against my father, but I can't resist the pull between us. Even if it means hiding what we have. Even if it means confronting the secrets I've always feared were lies.
