Blog Tour + Review: "Swoony Billionaire: The Kline Brooks Collection" by Max Monroe

I am thrilled to participate in the blog tour celebrating the release of "Swoony Billionaire: The Kline Brooks Collection" by Max Monroe

I'm relatively new to Max Monroe's books, so it was fantastic to have the opportunity to go back and read about one of their most popular heroes, Kline Brooks. I was also very excited to see more of Kline's best friend, Thatcher (Thatch) Kelly, who is my personal favorite of Max Monroe's characters. Thatch makes me laugh every time he shows up in a story, and he was at the top of his game throughout this collection. Aside from Thatch, this bundle is a great place for new Max Monroe fans to start because it sets the foundation for a lot of stories down the line, including Thatch and his wife Cassie's ("Banking the Billionaire"), Kline and Thatch's friend Wes ("Scoring the Billionaire"), the St. Luke's series which features Kline's brother-in-law Will ("Dr. OB"), and the Mavericks Tackle Love series featuring players from the New York Mavericks football team, owned by Wes. (In other words, there's plenty of backlist titles to keep us laughing while we wait out the rest of this winter and the pandemic!)

Reviews of the individual stories included in this collection are posted below, but in short, I loved each and every one of these hilarious stories with their flirty, witty banter and endearing characters. This collection is a perfect example of everything Max Monroe does best! I highly recommend it for all fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedy. Even if you've previously read the first two stories in the bundle, it's totally worth the price for the new story alone.

My Review

Book 1: "Tapping the Billionaire" (previously published)

"Tapping the Billionaire" by Max Monroe is workplace romance done right! The male lead, billionaire Kline Brooks, was completely swoon-worthy for a lot of reasons, not least of which because he treated his love interest, Georgia (Georgie) Cummings, and everyone else who worked for him as an equal. He never pressured Georgie, the Director of Marketing for his media empire, into going out with him or treated her differently because they were dating. I also loved that Kline was so down to earth; his wealth allowed him to have basically anything he wanted, but instead, he chose to live like a normal guy. He was only extravagant in ways that helped him run his business, such as using a car and driver to get around the city for meetings or taking a private plane when he traveled.

As for Georgie, I loved her independence, tenacity, and sparkling wit, which made for excellent banter between her and Kline. She really was hilarious, sometimes without trying to be. For example, I cried with laughter when she tried to give play-by-play for a football game over the phone with Kline, both because she knew virtually nothing about football (she called the end zone a "touchdown box") and because of the nicknames she gave the players (e.g. Coca-Cola and Boobear). Her relationship with Kline's cat, Walter, was also a highlight of the book. I had to laugh because Walter was so mean to Kline, who actually cared for and fed him, but was so loving with Georgie.

Overall, "Tapping the Billionaire" was a tremendously entertaining story with a lot of heart. I adored Kline and Georgie, as well as their family and friends. I highly recommend this story (either on its own or as part of the bundle) and look forward to what's coming next!

Book 1.5: "Tapping Her" (previously published)

"Tapping Her" is both a bonus epilogue to Kline and Georgie's story as we get to see them navigate the early days of their marriage and a setup for their best friends' Thatch and Cassie's story in book #2 of the series ("Banking the Billionaire"). While Kline and Georgie are away on their honeymoon, Thatch and Cassie are tasked with caring for their (evil) cat, Walter. When Walter escapes, Thatch and Cassie go to great lengths to find him, with lots of flirtation, banter, and of course, crazy antics along the way.

This was quite possibly the steamiest Max Monroe story I've read so far, but that made sense to me since it was set during Kline and Georgie's honeymoon. (For the record, Kline is an excellent dirty talker and I approve!) It may also have been the funniest, but that was because of Thatch and Cassie, my favorite Max Monroe couple. For example, Cassie's story about her childhood pet (a pig named Dad!) had me crying laughing (and honestly still makes me laugh now just thinking about it).

Overall, "Tapping Her" was a ton of fun, and I highly recommend it. I can't wait for the next one!

Book 1.6: "Be My Billionaire Valentine" (new release)

In "Be My Billionaire Valentine," Kline once again demonstrates that he would do absolutely anything to make Georgia happy as he sets out to prove that she is not the victim of a Valentine's Day curse. Unfortunately for Kline (and Georgie), his best friend Thatch discovers Kline's plans for a romantic getaway, and without Kline's knowledge or consent, decides to "help" with the itinerary.

This was another laugh-out-loud funny, sweet story with the perfect amount of steam, and I loved getting to spend some extra time with Kline and Georgia (and Thatch). For those who have already read the previous two stories, it's worth the price of the bundle for this novella alone.
