Blog Tour + Review: "Scoring with Him" by Lauren Blakely

I'm pleased to participate in the blog tour celebrating the release of "Scoring with Him" by Lauren Blakely, book #1 of the Men of Summer series.

When rookie catcher Grant Blackwood and veteran shortstop Declan Steele reported for their first spring training together as San Francisco Cougars, they were equally determined to focus solely on baseball and avoid romantic entanglements. They couldn't help the immediate attraction between them, but they did their best to channel it into friendship. That was especially challenging for Grant, who couldn't seem to avoid some awkwardness around Declan after years of crushing on him from afar. I loved how playful and flirty they were with each other from the start, as well as all of the accidentally funny innuendoes that kept coming up in their conversations.

The second part of the book really turned up the heat as Grant and Declan's friendship turned into a fling, but it was easy to see their emotional connection strengthening at the same time. The cliffhanger ending left me with a lot of questions, but thankfully, the second book releases in only a few weeks. I can't wait to find out what happens next!

Overall, despite my general dislike of cliffhanger endings, I really enjoyed this book. I highly recommend "Scoring with Him" for all fans of contemporary, sports, and M/M romance.

About "Scoring with Him"

Falling for the rookie wasn't part of the plan.
As a pro athlete, I have one unbreakable rule when it comes to men -- Don't date another baseball player.
Good thing I haven't been tempted once in four years in the majors.
Until the day a rising star walks into my locker room. Outgoing, affable, and sexy-as-sin, Grant has confidence and talent for miles. He seems to get me too, maybe because we each have our fair share of secrets and scars -- ones we'll both fight to protect.
But, I've got far too much trouble in my past to want to bring any into my present.
All the more reason to resist the kind of dirty deeds his lips and eyes promise.
Even after I plant a scorching, hot kiss on the rookie one night after a game.
Even after he sends me the world's sexiest selfie.
But when Grant reveals his biggest secret, I'm so damn ready to rip up the rulebook.
Turns out he's a virgin and he wants me to help him get around all the bases.
The only rule? Don't fall in love with him as we go.

Scoring with Him is book one in the utterly addictive Men of Summer series. This romance between two professional athletes spans five epic years and continues in Winning With Him.
