Release Blitz + Review: "Matchmaking a Grump" by Angela Casella and Denise Grover Swank

I'm pleased to participate in the release blitz celebrating "Matchmaking a Grump" by Angela Casella and Denise Grover Swank, book #3 of the Highland Hills series. Characters from previous books make appearances in this one, but it works well as a standalone.

Chicago banking heiress Kennedy Littlefield is only a year away from gaining full control of her trust fund, which she plans to use to support the non-profit where she works. The problem is that they urgently need an infusion of cash now, and her parents have refused to give her an advance on her trust. Hoping to promote the non-profit and its need for donations, Kennedy agrees to star in a dating reality show called Matchmaking the Rich. It doesn't take long for her to figure out that all eight of her potential matches are duds, but since her real goal is to promote the non-profit, she's not too upset about it. What does bother her is the complete lack of Christmas decor and holiday spirit in the North Carolina mansion where the show is being filmed. Even though they're filming in December, the show won't air until spring, which means all traces of Kennedy's favorite holiday have to be hidden away. There is an unexpected bright spot, however: grumpy handyman/firefighter Rowan Mayberry, grandson of the show's matchmaker/co-host, who secretly befriends Kennedy while helping out with odd jobs around the mansion. The truth is that Rowan is trying to sabotage the production, concerned about the negative attention it will bring on his family and hometown of Highland Hills. If the show doesn't air, Kennedy's beloved non-profit won't get the publicity - and funds - it desperately needs to survive. Will she be able to forgive Rowan when she finds out what he's really up to?

It's been a while since I've picked up one of the authors' books, and I forgot how much fun they are! I loved the chemistry and banter between Rowan and Kennedy. They both had a lot of family baggage to work through, and while he fought his feelings a lot more than she did, I mostly understood where he was coming from. I also enjoyed the book's quirky, entertaining supporting characters, particularly Rowan's best friend Oliver and Kennedy's friend Harry. Their romance was just as sweet as Rowan and Kennedy's, and I had to laugh at all of their dating mishaps.

I recommend "Matchmaking a Grump" for all contemporary romance and romantic comedy fans and look forward to catching up on the other books in the series soon.

About "Matchmaking a Grump"

Matchmaking a Grump by Angela Casella & Denise Grover Swank is now live!

He wants to destroy her show. She wants to get on Santa's naughty list with him.

Rowan
No man wants to be nicknamed Cupid. My family's run a matchmaking business for years, though, and my sister's a romance novelist. You get the picture. To make matters worse, my narcissistic grandmother just sold a reality dating show to network television. Thanks to her, our small town is about to become a hotbed of tourists and opportunists.

Her show needs to be stopped, and I'm exactly the man to do it. Cupid, reporting for duty.

The star of the show, Kennedy Littlefield, isn't my type at all. She's a wealthy heiress with an unhealthy obsession with Christmas.

There's just one problem: I can't stop thinking about her.

Kennedy
I'm lucky to be doing this show. Maybe I'll start believing it if I repeat it enough...because I'm supposed to be dating eight men, and they all suck. I'm not here to fall in love—I'm trying to save a non-profit with the publicity from the show--but I'd hoped for a Christmas miracle.

I love Christmas, only it hasn't come to the set because the show doesn't air until spring, and no one—with the exception of me—wants to watch a Christmas show in March.

There's only one thing I want more than Christmas cheer: the ornery grump who keeps hanging out around the set.
