Blog Tour + Review: "Elves with Benefits" by Jana Aston

I'm thrilled to participate in the blog tour celebrating the release of "Elves with Benefits" by Jana Aston, book #4 of the Reindeer Falls series. Like the first three books of the series (released in 2019), this second trilogy is lightly interconnected, but each story works well as a standalone.

Returning to his hometown of Reindeer Falls for the first time since high school, architect Ryan Sheppard plans to stay just long enough to put his late uncle's house on the market before returning to Chicago and the promotion he hopes is waiting for him there. His departure is delayed when the town's holiday enforcement officer, Maggie Harrison, learns that his uncle's house is occupied but hasn't yet been decorated for Christmas. Sparks fly when she pays Ryan a visit to issue a citation and he refuses to decorate because of his plans to sell. Maggie decides that grumpy Ryan needs her help to remember the wonder of Christmas in Reindeer Falls, but her efforts are complicated by her pesky attraction to him, which only grows stronger the more they're together. Can Maggie convince Ryan to change his mind about selling and stay in Reindeer Falls with her forever?

I had a smile on my face the entire time I was reading this story. It was definitely over the top in places, but endearingly so. Also, while the relationship between Maggie and Ryan felt a bit rushed to me, I loved their banter as well as how playful they were with each other. Finally, I was totally charmed by Reindeer Falls itself, and Maggie's internal commentary and antics kept me laughing. It was impossible not to love Maggie, if for no other reason than her creation of a book club that read nothing but holiday romance all year long. (She's clearly a woman after my own heart!)

Overall, "Elves with Benefits" was absolutely adorable and I highly recommend it for all fans of holiday romance and romantic comedy. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book of the series.

About "Elves with Benefits"

My name is Ryan Sheppard and I don’t care about Christmas. I’m only returning to my over-the-top Christmas-themed hometown to sell the house I inherited from my late uncle so I can get back to the city and the promotion I’m chasing at work.

Unfortunately, there’s a flaw in my plan.

Because according to the town Christmas cop, there’s a moratorium on selling houses during December. She says it’s bad for the aesthetic. She’s also slapping an alarming number of tickets on my front door. For being in violation of holiday décor. And I swear on Rudolph himself, one is for ‘unsportsmanlike Christmassing.’

To top it all off, this Christmas cop looks like a red-headed elf.

A sexy red-headed elf…
