Blog Tour + Review: "One Night with a Nutcracker" by Jana Aston

Today, I'm very excited to join the blog tour celebrating "One Night with a Nutcracker" by Jana Aston, book #5 of the Reindeer Falls series. Like the first three books of the series (released in 2019), this second trilogy is lightly interconnected, but each story works well as a standalone.

When Sutton Stewart found an abandoned, nearly starved baby goat along the side of the road and impulsively brought it home with her, she accidentally found her purpose in life at the same time. She couldn't exactly keep a goat in her parents' house, so she went in search of a new place to live, settling in an Airstream trailer parked on what she thought was unoccupied land just outside Reindeer Falls. With an abandoned (if rather decrepit) barn already in place, it was the perfect location for her new goat farm, which quickly grew to include a sizeable herd. Two years later, Sutton was shocked to come face to face with a man claiming to be the property's owner, who informed her that she was illegally squatting on his land. Attorney Jake Sheppard was determined to evict Sutton from the property he'd inherited from his late uncle and turn it into a golf course, but Sutton wasn't leaving without a fight.

Like the rest of the Reindeer Falls series, this story was super cute and laugh-out-loud funny. It reminded me of a Hallmark holiday movie, only steamier. Jake and Sutton had a ton of chemistry, and I loved their flirty, witty banter. Even though they were complete opposites, their strengths were complementary; caring, creative Sutton was good at coming up with new product ideas and ways to market the business, while Jake's legal background and talent for project management helped her focus on the details, such as creating a business plan to ensure sustained growth.

Overall, I loved "One Night with a Nutcracker" and highly recommend it for all romantic comedy and holiday romance fans. I look forward to the next book in the series.

About "One Night with a Nutcracker"

My name is Jake Sheppard and I’m ambivalent about Christmas and the Christmas-themed town I grew up in. But when I find out my late uncle left me an old barn and acres of land, the decision to return home to build my dream golf course is an easy one.

Imagine my surprise when I arrive and find out I have a squatter.

An incredibly sexy squatter, with wavy blonde hair, green eyes, a free spirit… and a herd of goats.

Sutton hates my guts. Apparently evicting a non-paying non-tenant and her goats weeks before Christmas is grounds for war.

Except Sutton’s version of war includes flinging her clothing at me and, as it turns out, I might be in way over my head with this girl…
