Review: "The Sebastian Guarantee" by Krista Sandor

Congratulations to Krista Sandor on her latest release, "The Sebastian Guarantee," book #1 of the Love Match Legacy series. It's a spinoff of the Nanny Love Match series featuring the children of the original couples, but reads as a standalone.

After leaving her billionaire uncle's tech company to go out on her own, Phoebe Gale created an app to track the location of food trucks and direct users to nearby options based on a short survey pinpointing their tastes and preferences. The algorithm behind her app had the unexpected side effect of sparking quite a few love matches between users who met while visiting the same food truck, including one for Phoebe herself. She's been casually dating Jeremy for a few months when he invites her out for a drink to discuss something "important." She thinks he's ready to take their relationship to the next level; instead, he cruelly dumps her, informing Phoebe that she's not the kind of girl men want to date. She's too much of a nerd, and the only reason he went out with her was to try and get closer to her uncle.

Meanwhile, Phoebe's best friend, Sebastian Cress, also hopes to build a business of his own without relying on his family's money and connections. He's had limited success so far, spending more time partying than refining his business plan over the last few months. An investment group in Denver decides to give him a chance, provided that he can come up with a case study within the next week to prove that his life coaching methods work. When Phoebe comes to him and asks for help transforming herself in time for an upcoming tech conference, Sebastian realizes that she would be the perfect candidate. The situation changes rapidly when a "kissing assessment" goes much further than either of them anticipated, and they begin to see each other in a whole new light. But will things change again when Phoebe learns the truth about why Sebastian agreed to help her?

I adored this funny, sweet, and perfectly steamy story. Phoebe and Sebastian were obviously in love with each other from the start, but I understood why they fought their feelings for so long. I was rooting for them from the very first page and couldn't wait to find out how they'd overcome the obstacles standing in their way. The cameos from their friends and family, who were featured in the earlier Nanny Love Match series, were a ton of fun too. I loved that they were still such good friends, and that the kids used the foot taps in place of swear words even as adults!

I highly recommend "The Sebastian Guarantee" for all fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedy. After the hints of what's to come that were included in this book's epilogue, I can't wait to get my hands on the next book of the series.

About "The Sebastian Guarantee"

Phoebe Gale is a genius behind the keyboard, but her love life is a catastrophe. She’s sick of guys trampling on her heart.

Spoiler Alert: that’s about to end.

She’s been invited to a conference where she’ll get the chance to flaunt her tech talents and show these creeps exactly what they’re missing.

Hell hath no fury like a computer nerd scorned. It’s time to flip the script.

Her success depends on her best friend, Sebastian Cress. Dubbed the hottest man on the internet, he’s given her his guarantee he can coach her to become a tech sensation and an irresistible heartbreaker. His assistance comes with a single rule. She must follow his every instruction–even in the bedroom.

What’s a little seduction training between friends?

Answer: It could cost them everything.
A life-long friendship is at stake—but so is the chance to fall in love with their perfect match. The only thing that’s guaranteed is the hotter it gets between the sheets, the harder it is to keep the lines between friendship and love from blurring.
