Today, I'm pleased to participate in the release blitz celebrating "Doctor Heartless" by J. Saman, book #3 of the Boston's Billionaire Bachelors series. It works well as a standalone, though characters from previous books play supporting roles in this one.
Billionaire cardiologist and single father Dr. Landon Abbot-Fritz still blames himself for the death of his wife, Reese, nine years ago. Having already lost the love of his life, he has no interest in starting another relationship, but he does get lonely sometimes. When that happens, he heads to a bar for a one-night stand. It's on one such night that he meets Ellery "Elle" Wilde, who has recently moved to Boston for a fresh start after a difficult divorce. They spend the night together, though both are clear that it can't be anything more. It's therefore a massive shock when she finds out the next morning that Landon pretended to be his identical twin, Luca, at the bar, and that he's her new next-door neighbor. Even worse, Elle is Landon's daughter Stella's new history and wellness teacher. As she attempts to build a new life for herself, Elle will have to navigate school politics, a strained relationship with her family, and her intense feelings for the forbidden man next door, not to mention a growing friendship with his precocious daughter.
I loved this sweet, sexy, and heartwarming story, which featured endearing, relatable characters and a compelling plot. I particularly empathized with Elle, whose emotions were understandably in turmoil throughout the first part of the story. She was dealing with a lot between the end of her marriage, the move to Boston, and meeting Landon; as exciting as it was for her to have a chance at a fresh start in which she was able to make her own choices, it scared her at the same time. No matter how hard they tried to resist, she and Landon kept being drawn back to each other, and ultimately, they were able to help each other heal. I loved seeing them come together as a family with his daughter Stella. He was so sweet and supportive of her, and their relationship was one of my favorite parts of the book.
I highly recommend "Doctor Heartless" for all fans of angsty/emotional contemporary romance and look forward to the next book in the series.

About "Doctor Heartless"
He's cruel. Insufferably attractive. And broken beyond redemption.
After the nightmare I just ran from, those details should have made him the perfect storm of do not touch. Except I didn't know any of this–other than the attractive part—when I met him.
Our story started on a lie.
He pretended to be someone else, and I didn't ask a lot of questions. Nor did I try to stop him when he snuck out of my hotel room in the wee hours of the morning. I was determined to start my new life on an uptick and a wild one-night with a hot stranger felt like just the ticket.
Only I should have known something that good wouldn't end that easy.
On my first night in my new house, our paths cross again when I discover he's my new neighbor. No longer the charming man I met in the bar, he's a grump, completely unfriendly, and utterly intolerable. As if this couldn't get any worse, I quickly learn I'm also his daughter's new teacher.
A wonderful daughter I can't help but fall in love with.
Something I refuse to do with him. Our button-pushing back and forth never fails to get under my skin. If anything, his sudden off-limits status makes resisting this devil of a single dad that much easier.
Regardless of the temptation he presents. How searing his heated gaze is when I catch him staring. Or how breathless our stolen moments leave us.
After all, this is the fresh start I so desperately need, and I will not let anything get in my way.
No. I can't give in to Doctor Heartless. No matter how hard he tries to change my mind.
