Release Blitz + Review: "Only One Love" by Natasha Madison

I'm pleased to join the release blitz celebrating "Only One Love" by Natasha Madison, book #7 of the Only One series. Characters from previous books in the series (as well as Madison's earlier Something So and This Is series) make cameo appearances here, but it reads as a standalone.

Determined to prove that she can succeed on her own merits and not just because of her family name, Frances "Franny" Grant takes a new job in Dallas where she'll be producing a weekly sports show focusing on the "bad boys of hockey." How did they become bad boys and are they really as bad as their reputations? One of the show's first guests is her brother Cooper's teammate Brad Wilson, who has become known as the "bad boy on the ice" because he's been suspended several times for fighting and illegal hits. Sparks fly between Wilson and Franny immediately, though she makes it clear that she's not interested in dating. He'll have to persuade her to let him prove that they can be more than just a fling.

Without a doubt, Wilson was the best part of this book for me. When he met Franny, he realized that his days of playing the field were over and pursued her with a single-minded determination that was totally swoon-worthy. Further, Wilson and Franny's chemistry was absolute fire, and there was more than one steamy scene that threatened to melt my Kindle. Unfortunately, I wasn't quite as much a fan of Franny as I was of Wilson. I certainly empathized with her workplace difficulties in dealing with the boys' club at her new job, and I also liked how sex-positive she was. However, her treatment of Wilson sometimes came off as if she thought he was only good for sex, which really wasn't fair when he was going out of his way to be so sweet to her and plan such thoughtful dates. I also didn't understand where her fear of relationships was coming from. She was surrounded by so many examples of happy relationships in her family, and she didn't have baggage from a past bad relationship of her own, so what exactly was the problem?

Overall, while "Only One Love" wasn't my favorite of the series, I did enjoy it. I recommend this book for fans of steamy contemporary and sports romance and look forward to continuing the series.

About "Only One Love"

From USA TODAY bestselling author Natasha Madison comes a brand new standalone sports romance. The seventh installment of the Only One Series. A spin off from the Something So Series and This is Series.

Wilson
I was the bad boy on and off the ice.
I loved it — owned it.
Hockey. Women. Money.
Until she came into the picture.
Now, all I want to do is be better.
I want to prove to myself I don’t have to be the guy everyone thinks I am.
She knocked down the walls I spent my whole life building.

Franny
My last name opened the doors, but proving I was worth the title of TV producer took all of my time.
He walked in with a chip on his shoulder.
I was happy to point out all his flaws.
Falling for him was inevitable.
When scandal hits, no one expected me to stand by his side.
Not even him.
But I’ve learned that you get only one love.
